Dr. Lee-Alevizon grew up in a family where holistic health and Chinese medicine were the ways of life. Assisting and apprenticing in her father's acupuncture and herbal medicine clinic in her younger years inspired her to study medicine in order to help patients obtain relief from their illnesses.

Dr. Lee-Alevizon graduated with honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a major in biology.  Hoping to find a cure for cancer patients, she did a year of immunology research at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation, before fully pursuing the study of medicine at the University of Tulane School of Medicine. She graduated in the top third of her medical school class.

By the completion of her internship at University of Tulane Medical Center, Dr. Lee-Alevizon felt that she could not help her patients with many of their complaints due to the limitations of Western medicine.  She decided to turn towards her background in acupuncture and herbal medicine.  After completing an extensive course of study at the Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, California, she is now one of very few licensed medical doctors specializing in acupuncture in the state of Louisiana.
